Partners

Our technology partners: the companies we buy through and build on.

Third Shift works with a small number of technology companies. One supplies the subscriptions we resell, and two publish the platforms we build on. Each card below says what the relationship is and what it changes for you.

Why we partner

A partner is listed here when it changes what a client can buy or see.

We partner with a company for one of two reasons. Either it sells only through partners, so working with it is the only way a client can buy that product from us, or it publishes a platform we build on, so a client's own data can reach a dashboard the client owns.

A partnership is a commercial relationship. It is not an endorsement of our work by the partner, and we do not describe our recommendations as vendor-independent. The written recommendation comes first, and you decide where to buy.

Cloud distributor

Pax8

Reseller of Azure, security, and Microsoft 365 subscriptions

Pax8 is the cloud wholesaler Third Shift buys Azure, security, and Microsoft 365 subscriptions through. A wholesaler sells to partners like us and not to businesses directly, which is why those subscriptions are bought from Third Shift.

  • Microsoft 365 licenses, Azure, and security subscriptions are available in the marketplace
  • Third Shift sells, sets up, and bills each subscription as the seller of record
  • Purchases appear in the monthly license and usage report

Intuit QuickBooks

Intuit App Partner Program · Silver

Third Shift is a Silver member of the Intuit App Partner Program, Intuit's program for companies that build apps on QuickBooks Online. We build the connection that brings a client's QuickBooks Online books into a dashboard the client owns.

  • A QuickBooks Online connection, approved by the client's QuickBooks administrator
  • Profit, cash, and receivables reported in the client's own Microsoft cloud account
  • Technology spend reported from the vendor bills already in QuickBooks

App developer

Apple Developer Program

Apple Developer Program member

Third Shift is a member of the Apple Developer Program. Membership is what allows us to build, sign, and distribute apps for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, so an app built for a client's staff can run on the devices they already carry.

  • Apps for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, signed and distributed under our membership
  • Distribution to a client's own staff rather than the public App Store, where that fits
  • The app reads from systems the client already owns

AI models we build with

We use the major AI models as a customer, not as a partner.

We are a customer of each of these companies, not a partner, and none of them endorses Third Shift. Which model a client build uses is set by that client's AI Use Policy and by where its data is allowed to go.

xAI

Grok

Drafts articles and generates the photographs in our own publishing workflow, under the same rules we write for clients.

OpenAI

OpenAI models

Available for client automation through Azure OpenAI, inside the client's own Microsoft cloud account, where the AI Use Policy approves it.

What is not on this page

The help desk and IT firms we appoint are not listed here.

When a client has no help desk or no IT provider, we select that firm and manage the relationship. Those firms contract with the client and bill the client directly. We do not publish a list of them, because the right firm depends on the client's hours, systems, and sites rather than on a standing roster.

Software a client already licenses, such as Microsoft 365 or an industry system, is not a partnership either. We report on it and make recommendations about it in the part-time CIO role, whoever sold it.

Questions

Questions about our partners

What is Pax8, and what is the marketplace?

Pax8 is the cloud wholesaler Third Shift buys through. Wholesalers sell to partners like us, not to businesses directly, so there is no way to buy from Pax8 yourself. Anything bought in the Third Shift marketplace is sold, set up, and billed by Third Shift. The marketplace is the storefront on this site where clients browse, buy, and manage their Azure, security, and Microsoft 365 subscriptions.

Do you earn anything from the partners you name?

Yes. We earn a margin on the subscriptions we resell, and we may earn a referral from a firm we appoint for you. Ask what we earn on anything we recommend and we will tell you. The recommendation is written first, and you decide where to buy.

What does Intuit App Partner Silver mean?

Silver is a tier of the Intuit App Partner Program, the program for companies that build apps on QuickBooks Online. It describes our standing as a developer on that platform. It is not an endorsement of our services by Intuit.
