Lancaster is the courthouse town for Lancaster County, which stretches from the Charlotte suburbs of Indian Land down to farmland and the Haile gold mine near Kershaw. The city was a textile town for most of the last century. Its mills have closed, and a regional credit union, the hospital, and manufacturers along US-521 are now among the larger employers in Lancaster.
The county's two halves produce two kinds of firm. In Indian Land, newer professional offices serve Charlotte commuters and often start on Microsoft 365 with good habits and no written rules. In Lancaster and the towns south of it, older firms run accounting and job systems that have been in place for years, with reports built by hand. Both need the AI rule, because staff in each are already using public AI tools. After that, the older firms usually gain most from an applications assessment and a base dashboard. The newer offices gain most from a review of how Microsoft 365 is configured. Heath Springs and Kershaw firms tend to follow the older pattern.
