The owner had no single view of profit, cash, recurring revenue, and tax exposure. The accounting system's standard reports answered bookkeeping questions, not decisions.

What we built, and why
The problem
The owner of a small IT services firm ran the business from the accounting system's standard reports. Those reports answer bookkeeping questions well. They do not say what next quarter's cash looks like, what a price rise would do to profit, or what the tax bill will be.
The owner wanted the view a part-time CFO would give, available any day of the month.
What we built
The dashboard reads from the accounting system and the company-card statements. A shared finance engine does the calculations, so the numbers on the screen and the numbers the API returns are always the same.
The brief tab opens with the figures that matter and short notes written by AI. The AI receives totals only, never customer names or invoices. Every figure it writes is checked against the facts it was given before the note is shown.
The what-if tab is where most decisions start. The owner moves a slider for price, churn, a hire, or an equipment purchase and sees the effect on profit, cash, and tax beside the current year.

What changed
The owner reviews the month from one brief instead of three reports, and tests a price change or a new hire before committing to it. Card subscriptions that had crept in were found and cancelled.
