What does monthly maintenance actually cover?
Monthly dashboard maintenance covers four things. Every connection is checked. The key reports are matched back to the systems they came from, so the numbers still agree. When a connected application changes, the dashboard changes with it. And leadership gets a short note each month saying what was checked and what changed.
Is maintenance optional?
Maintenance is optional, but we recommend it. A dashboard without a monthly check drifts as vendors change their systems and exports stop running without an error. Within a few months no one trusts the numbers, which defeats the point of having a dashboard at all.
What happens when a source system changes?
The monthly check looks for it. A vendor may rename a field, or an export may stop running. The dashboard is then updated so the reports still match the systems they came from.
