Daily support · through a partner
Onsite IT support: we select the technicians who work on site.
Someone still has to stand at the desk, open the closet, and replace the printer. That is not us. We find an onsite IT firm, set when they may be dispatched, review the visit notes, and keep those calls off the owner's phone. They contract with you and bill you.
Illustrative month. Their technicians walk the floor. We stay on the process.
In one sentence
We find the onsite IT firm. Their technicians walk the floor. We stay on the relationship. They bill you.

What this work involves
Remote help desks cannot pull a cable or stand at a desk. Plants, warehouses, and offices with shared equipment still need someone physically on site. Third Shift does not send those technicians. We select an onsite IT partner, set the dispatch rules, and review every visit so the owner is not the dispatcher.
You sign with the partner. They bill you for the visits. We decide what is worth a truck roll, read the notes, and replace the partner if the visits become a second unmanaged vendor. Many companies need both a help desk and onsite coverage; they can be one firm or two. Neither is us.
This listing sits beside the method, not inside it. The part-time CIO seat is how we stay on the partner. Nothing here is a Third Shift technician in your closet.
Who does what
You keep your team, and we take this part.
- You — Approve the partner, the sites, and the budget. They bill you.
- Third Shift — Find, set dispatch rules, review visits, replace them if they miss.
- Onsite partner — Send technicians and close the visit.
- Your systems — Stay with whoever already owns them.
Who it is for
A fit when
- Offices, plants, and warehouses that still need hands on site
- Companies whose MSP never actually shows up
- Firms that want visits without hiring a technician
Scope
What it is not
- Not Third Shift technicians on site. We do not walk the floor
- Not a break-fix shop we operate
- Not cabling, construction, or a project crew we staff
- Not a partner directory you can browse. We select; you sign with them

Who buys this
Industries that start here.
- Wholesale distribution and logistics — A capable MSP, no one directing it, and fill rate answered by three exports and a phone call.
- Construction, trades, and engineering — Job costing that depends on one person's spreadsheet, and an IT director who left mid-project.
The order
Part of the sequence, not the whole of it.
This sits beside the method, not inside it. The part-time CIO seat is how we stay on the partner. Nothing here obliges you to buy the dashboard or the Microsoft 365 work.
Questions
Questions about onsite it support
Do you run our help desk?
No. No one here resets passwords or takes tickets. Help desk work stays with your staff or with an IT firm. If you do not have one, we find that firm, set what they are accountable for, and report on whether it is working. They bill you directly.
Can you find us a help desk or an MSP?
Yes. If your company has no help desk or no MSP, we select a firm that can do that day-to-day work, set the priorities they work against, and manage the process. They contract with you and bill you. We may earn a referral under our agreement with the provider. We do not claim the recommendation is vendor-independent, and we do not publish a partner list.
Who pays the MSP or help desk you recommend?
You do, directly. Outsourced help desk, monitoring, and backup are contracted and billed by that provider. Third Shift is not a middleman on those invoices. Ask what sits behind a recommendation; we will answer.
How do you choose the help desk or onsite partner?
We match hours, stack, and sites to a firm that actually does that work, then you sign with them. The choice is yours. We do not publish a partner list, and we do not claim the recommendation is vendor-independent. If you already have a firm, we start by directing them rather than replacing them.
What is the difference between the help desk and onsite IT?
The help desk is the remote queue: tickets, passwords, break-fix over the phone. Onsite IT is work done in person at your premises: desks, wiring closets, printers, and scheduled visits. Many companies need both. They can be one partner or two. Neither is Third Shift staff.
